Wynter Black (previously known under the artist name Abbee Audio), is an independent singer-songwriter based in The UK. Born in Africa to a Zambian father and British mother, she and her family later moved to the USA, where she attended middle school and also a performing arts high school to study dance. In 2007, Wynter Blacks' parents decided to pick up sticks once again, this time moving to the United Kingdom.

 

Shortly after moving there, she met a group of friends who later joined talents to form the music group, Harmony Hood. 2009 saw Wynter and her bandmate’s enter the popular talent show, The X Factor. They got considerably far, reaching the judge’s house stage and, although their dreams were cut short at said stage, they garnered positive attention for their strong vocal ability and unique sense of style.

 

Harmony Hood appeared on the front cover of red tops, such as The Sun, as well as much-read magazines like Heat Magazine, and OK!. They were also interviewed live on GMTV and toured all over the British Isles. Due to creative differences, however, the band members had no option but to part ways and go on their solo musical journeys.

 

Wynter Black didn't spare a second, using her exposure and experience as an incentive to work harder than ever to chase her dream of becoming a successful singer, songwriter, and performer. Armed with smoky, soulful pipes, she’s spent endless hours in the studio doing collaborations with a variety of artists and producers from all around the UK within the urban music arena and landed the opportunity to open for rapper Chipmunk, perform at the 'Female Take Over' along side Lady Leshurr, Mz Bratt, Shystie and many more talented female artists at The HMV Institute, Birmingham. But it was to be her work with bassline/4x4’s TRC between 2010 and 2012 that would give her the mainstream radio airplay and countless live gigs that she had yearned for which lead to her featuring on the official mix tape 'Woooo Riddem' which featured freestyles by legends in the Urban Music industry such as BOYBETTERKNOW, Manga, DDoublee, Trilla and many more.

 

Wynter Black soon pricked the ears of Urban Monk, a well-known music producer who, at the time, was also the music director for the hit urban movie, One Day. She worked alongside him on projects in the studio for well over a year, including writing top lines for feature artists he was working with. Working on said projects with Urban Monk landed her an opportunity to write and record songs featured on the Channel 4 documentary, One Mile Away – which was a follow-up on the same topics dealt in the One Day movie. It was a success, and gained the starlet-in-waiting a few more fans.

 

Fusing R&B, soul, hip-hop, and electronic to form her unique sound, she released her debut mixtape,THREE, in 2012 to much applause from the underground music circuit and mainstream radio. She proved on the set that she can be a musical chameleon, if needs be – switching up her flow to sit on any beat presented to her. This lead to what would be the next big opportunity to open for Wretch 32 at Pacha London. Wynter Black graduated with a degree in Commercial Music from The University of Westminster.

In 2015 she featured on The X Factor again in a group first known as Silver Tone but later changed their name to Melody Stone due to legal reasons. The group reached the stage of the Judges Houses in the competition but part ways shortly after the show aired.

Since then, Wynter Black has been working hard on solo projects, writing on projects for other artists such as The Netherlands' talent singer/rapper Hind Hakki and German Producer/DJ Dou Bankz and Rodriguez so the best is yet to come!
